TRC20 vs ERC20 vs BEP20: Choosing the Right Network on BitPerp
BitPerp supports USDT deposits and withdrawals on three networks — TRC20, ERC20 and BEP20. Here's what each one means, how their fees and speed compare, and how to pick the right one.
When you deposit or withdraw USDT on BitPerp, you'll be asked to choose a network: TRC20, ERC20, or BEP20. Picking the right one can save you time and money — picking the wrong one, or mismatching networks between sender and receiver, can cost you your funds permanently. Here's what each network actually is.
USDT is one token, many networks
USDT (Tether) isn't tied to a single blockchain. The same dollar-pegged token exists on several different networks, and each version moves independently. BitPerp supports three of the most widely used:

TRC20 (TRON network)
TRC20 is USDT issued on the TRON blockchain. It's the most popular choice for moving USDT because network fees are typically a fraction of a dollar and confirmations are fast. For most BitPerp users making routine deposits or withdrawals, TRC20 is the most practical default.
ERC20 (Ethereum network)
ERC20 is USDT issued on Ethereum, the original and most established smart-contract network. It benefits from Ethereum's size and decentralization, but that comes at a cost: gas fees can be significantly higher than TRC20 or BEP20, especially when the Ethereum network is busy. Choose ERC20 if the wallet or exchange you're sending from or to only supports that network.
BEP20 (BNB Smart Chain)
BEP20 is USDT issued on BNB Smart Chain, an Ethereum-compatible network run by Binance's ecosystem. It offers a similar balance of low fees and fast confirmations to TRC20, and is common among wallets and exchanges built around the Binance ecosystem.
How to choose
- Check the destination first. Before withdrawing, confirm which network the receiving wallet or exchange actually supports for USDT — this matters more than which is "best."
- Default to TRC20 for routine transfers if you have no other constraint — it's usually the cheapest and fastest option.
- Match networks exactly. The network you select when depositing or withdrawing must match on both ends. Sending TRC20 USDT to an address that only accepts ERC20 (or vice versa) can result in permanent loss of funds — this is not reversible.
Golden rule: always double-check the network before you send. If you're ever unsure which network a wallet or exchange supports, ask them first — don't guess.
