In Hedge Mode, you can hold both long and short positions of a contract simultaneously, and unrealized PnL can be offset between the long position and the short position.
In One-way Mode, also known as buy/sell mode, you can only hold same-direction positions for a contract. If you already have a position in a contract and place an order in the opposite direction, the existing position will be reduced first. Any order amount that exceeds the existing position will be opened in the opposite direction.
